Obituary for Mr. Salvatore Biondolillo

Mr. Salvatore J. Biondolillo, "Sal", to those who knew him best, passed away August 1, 2019, at the age of 74 surrounded by his loving children.

Sal was born June 7, 1945 in Buffalo, New York to Salvatore Vincent Biondolillo and Maria Theresa Antonia Testa. Prior to his passing, he worked as an Electrical/Optical Engineer for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. Sal was also a master Woodworker, building fine furniture and was the proprietor of multiple Restoration and Reproduction furniture businesses, the longest standing being York Restoration which he shared with his partner and wife. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Suzanne Helene Biondolillo; his parents, Salvatore Vincent (Maria Theresa Antonia Testa) Biondolillo and his brothers, Joseph Biondolillo and Donald Biondolillo.

Throughout his life, Sal had cultivated an immense love of a very diverse array of music including Blues, Folk and Classical music; some of his favorites being Mario Lanza, Luciano Pavorotti, Lead Belly, Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, David Grisham, Son House, and Del McCoury. He would sit for hours immersed in his music and telling old stories of his time spent in the "Blues" clubs of Buffalo and Rochester or sharing his memories of his childhood in the south side of Buffalo, where he often journeyed over the Peace Bridge to pickup treats with his siblings and cousins. Sal spent hours watching baseball, his favorite team; of course, being the NY Yankees. Later in life he became an accomplished chef, often making wonderful authentic Italian dishes and desserts that he insisted on sharing with his family and friends. His Italian cheesecake and cannolis were always raved about by all who were lucky enough to partake. Sal took great joy in simply entertaining those around him and would always share not only his cooking but a fine cigar or glass of his favorite scotch with anyone that would join him.

Sal was truly a doting husband to his beautiful wife "Suzie". He would often say "I don't know why she chose me as her husband but I thank God every day that she did." He spent his life striving to find contentment in the small things. He was gregarious and charismatic and one of his greatest joys was merely spending time with his family; especially his beautiful grandchildren who always brought out the goofy, childlike spirit that dwelled inside him. He was kind and generous to all that knew him and will always be remembered for the laughter and love that he shared with the world.

Salvatore is survived by his children, William Vincent Biondolillo (Judy), Thomas Joseph Biondolillo (Susan), Michael Salvatore Biondolillo (Rosanna), Seana Mara Biondolillo and Meghan Helene Biondolillo-Smith (Justin); his grandchildren, Amanda Biondolillo, Kayla Biondolillo, Sara Biondolillo, Maria Biondolillo, Anna Biondolillo, Thomas Biondolillo, Victoria Biondolillo, Michael Biondolillo, Kathleen Biondolillo, Joshua Biondolillo and Gabriella Smith and his sisters Rosanne DiJames (Frank) and Evelyn Elmlinger.
