Jamie & Amy Benson Managing Owner, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Licensed Insurance Agent (Life and Health)

Jamie is the son of James and Robbie Benson, founders of Benson Funeral Home (1975).  Jamie is a 1983 Honor Graduate from Paulding County High School; 1987 Graduate from Georgia Tech (Business Management); 1988 Graduate from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science (Associates Degree).  Jamie is married to the former Amy Burel Benson.  Amy is a 1985 Honor Graduate of Henry County High School; 1989 Graduate of Georgia Tech (Business Management)  Amy owns and operates Amy's Flowers and Gifts.  They have two children;  Morgan, a 2013 Honor Graduate from Paulding County High School and Senior at Berry College; Reagan, a 2016 Honor Graduate from Paulding County High School and a Freshman at Truett-McConnell University.  They attend Picketts Mill Baptist Church.

Jeremy M. Hicks

Jeremy is a life long resident of Paulding County, living most of his life in the Yorkville Community of Paulding County. Jeremy is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Mike (Becky Thomason) Hicks of Dallas, Ga.

 

His grandparents are Mr. & Mrs. Hubert (Sallie Roberts) Hicks and Mrs. Mildred Canup Thomason of Dallas and  Mr. & Mrs. Guy (Gerri) Thomason.

 

Jeremy is married to Carrie Davis Hicks, and they have three children: Noah, Levi and Mary-Elizabeth.

 

Jeremy and Carrie attend New Georgia Baptist Church in New Georgia, Ga.

 

Jeremy began his career in the Funeral Industry in 1994 at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home, working his way through all aspects of the funeral business. After leaving Eberharts in 2000, Jeremy began working with the Dallas Police Department as a dispatcher and then worked his way through mandate training to become a POST certified Peace Officer with the state of Georgia. While working for the Police Department Jeremy completed the States Accident Investigation class.

 

After lots of prayer and consideration Jeremy decided in 2006 to return to what he felt was his calling in life and his ministry, the Funeral Industry. Jeremy went to work with Benson Funeral Home, Inc. in September 2006 and began Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in November of that year. While working through school, he graduated College in February 2008 with an Associate’s Degree in Science. After graduation, Jeremy applied for and obtained his Georgia Funeral Director and Embalmer License.

 

Jeremy spends his spare time fishing with his daddy in Spring Creek, Florida or serving as Treasurer for the Paulding Council of PTA and also Treasurer for Scoggins Middle School PTA. Jeremy is also a member of Dallas Lodge #182 F & A.M.

Tony & Susan Wilson

Tony is the son of Hugh and Faustine Wilson.  He is a 1973 graduate of Paulding County High School and a 1988 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service.  He is married to the former Susan Benson, daughter of James and Robbie Benson.  Tony and Susan have been married since June 13, 1975 and are the parents of two children.  They also have two grandsons.  Susan is a Family Nurse Practitioner, graduating from Georgia State University and works for Floyd Primary Care in Rockmart, Georgia.

 

Tony is a Master Mason and member of Dallas Lodge # 182 F&AM.  Tony and Susan enjoy reading and traveling.  They are members of Narroway Baptist Church.

Kim Hardy Funeral Assistant/Apprentice

Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia.  Graduate of Lassiter High School in 1987.  Was soloist and drum major in Lassiter's elite and nationally know marching band 83' - 87'.  Was voted Senior Superlative "Most Likely to Succeed".  Attended Georgia Southern for two years and studied music education.   Then entered the fast paced warehousing environments working for General Electric, Healthdyne Technologies and JVC.  Moved to Paulding County in 2003 and currently work and reside in Paulding County.  Work at Amy's Flowers and Gifts, Benson Funeral Home and as a Paulding County School Bus Driver.  Spent the last four years as a community coach at Paulding County High School and was thankful for the opportunity to give back to the community.
